Celebrating the life of

Dorothy Mae Cardillo

February 08, 1933 - June 11, 2024

Dorothy Mae Cardillo

Dorothy Mae Cardillo, 91 died peacefully on Tuesday June 11, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia.

Dottie was born on February 8, 1933 in New Jersey and was the youngest child of Dorothy Hoffman and Michael Thorry. She attended Dickinson High School in Jersey City, New Jersey.

On May 1, 1954, Dorothy married Francis “Frank” Cardillo at St Anne’s Church in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Dottie did many different “jobs” in her life including mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend but she also worked for the St. Lucie Sheriff's office until she was 82 years old.

In her free time, she would dress up as a clown and visit children in the hospital. She loved kids and dogs more than anything.

Dottie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank. She is survived by her son, Frank George Cardillo; daughter, Susan Cardillo; Frank’s wife, Renee; and grandson’s, Frankie and Joey Cardillo as well as Susan’s husband, James; and her trusty attack dog (her term, not ours), Maxie.

A memorial service will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 4605 Highway 80 East, Savannah.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Dot(Snoonie). So many fond memories of her and Uncle Frank in Union City and at the shore. They are both missed. Aunt Dot was always so fun and Uncle Frank just sat back so calm and observed! Hoping you are all doing well.
